Alon Livne for Castro: The Collaboration that Dreams Are Made Of
Great collaborations make the fashion enthusiast (that's me and I'm going to assume that's you as well) squeal with joy. They let us into the world and creative mind of that designer. Alexander Wang let us live out our Rocky Balboa dreams at H&M (literally), we were all invited to Lily Pulitzer's garden party at Target and we got a chance to step into the beautifully simplistic world of Rei Kawakubo of Commes des Garcons when she collaborated brilliantly with Converse. Yes, these collaborations give us an opportunity to be part of the magic.
The latest such collaboration in the Israeli fashion world is Alon Livne for Castro. At only 24 years old, Livne has already accomplished more than what aspiring designers only dream about. He won Proyekt Maslul (Israel's Project Runway) in 2009, he trained in the fashion houses of Alexander McQueen and Roberto Cavalli, has shown his collections at New York Fashion Week, has made custom red carpet looks for countless celebs, was commissioned by Queen Bey to make outfits for her world tour, created looks for The Hunger Games, oh and he has a bridal line called Alon Livne White. (If I were to say all of that out loud, I'd probably be out of breath by Cavalli. Dammit, I need to take the stairs more).
Echoing his geometric designs, It should be no surprise then that Livne's collection for Castro would be as refined, chic and simplistic (in an elegant way) as he is.
