You Know What They Say About Big Clutches?

I'd like to stop and point something rather ironic out to you: Our electronic devices are getting smaller and smaller, yet our bags and clutches are ballooning faster than Violet Beauregarde after swallowing the blueberry-pie gum. Why is that? Yes, our devices are getting smaller but we are also getting busier- waaay busier. In addition to carrying your own phone and tablet, work may also oh-so-generously give you another phone and/or tablet, (or two or three). Besides having enough electronics to supply Best Buy in our bag, many of us women might also carry a little something extra to change into or an accessory that will take our outfit from office to olé!

Happy Hour tends to come hot on the Jimmy Choo heels of our work day (for some of us, they may overlap entirely). Thus, going home and changing is not really an option for anyone. This is where big clutches come in. I tend to gravitate toward practical, yet conversation-starting clutches. Some of you more daring ladies might opt for a clear clutch but just like when a friend decides to bring her new boy toy to a sacred Sunday brunch, thus limiting what us girls can discuss at the table, so too does a clear clutch severely limit what you can put in your arsenal.

Here are just the kind of clutches I am talking about. They are all hand-made by Efrat Weisz in Tel Aviv and come in many different sizes. There are small coin purses for lip gloss and credit cards and bigger ones that serve the office to olé purpose we discussed earlier. My favorite designs are the ones that have a map of Tel Aviv and Jerusalem on them. They are cool, different and definitely conversation starters. If you are meeting that nice Jewish boy you "crushed" on Jcrush for drinks, I give you my 100% guarantee that you will get a second date if you bring one of these. (Obviously still be nice and charming and all that).

Even though this last one isn't a map of any sort, I still wanted to include it because I love De Stijl!
