This fashion week has proved to be all about the chill and laidback lifestyle. Designers embraced fringe, sneakers and floral motifs. Israeli-born designer, Yigal Azrouel was no exception.
For this particular collection, Yigal was inspired by early surf culture as well as his own love for the sport and the care-free attitude people usually have during the seemingly endless summer months. Think Surfin' USA mixed with the Rum Diaries movie starring Johnny Depp. (If you've never seen that movie, drop what you are doing and watch...NOW!).
Yigal is of French-Moroccan descent and has five older sisters (which probably explains why Yigal chose to design for women, as well as his ultra-feminine looks). He is known for his exquisite draping techniques and fresh take on womenswear. Rather than following trends, Yigal draws his inspiration from culture, art, travel and evidently from his own experiences.
Can summer come again soon so we can lay by the pool under white cabanas, sip our piña coladas (not get caught in the rain) and wear these amazing pieces!?
