With great power comes great responsibility, (or in this case, great fans). The success of Twilight has bred "Twihards", True Blood has indirectly brought about "Trubies" and thanks to the continued success of the Hunger Games movies, "Tributes" are the latest members of the Fantasy Fandom Club. (Catchy name, right?).
For those of you who are not among the "Tributes", The Hunger Games is a movie franchise based on the book trilogy with the same name. The films star Jennifer Lawrence, Donald Sutherland and Liam Hemsworth. The trilogy's latest instalment, Mocking Jay is hitting theatres November 21st. Why am I telling you all of this? Did you accidentally stumble upon a Hunger Games fan site? No, you did not and I'm telling you all of this because Mocking Jay will feature stunning creations by Project Runway Israel's winner and now top designer- Alon Livne.
Livne has been around fashion from a very young age, having apprenticed at Alexander McQueen in London. At the age of 22, he continued on to design for Roberto Cavalli before coming back to Israel and winning Project Runway. Since then, Alon has been quite busy, creating "Diamond" a capsule collection for Castro and "Art Ballet" an acclaimed artistic collaborative collection with Lee denim.
Presently, Alone Livne dresses celebrities, has his own brand and store in Tel Aviv and will be showcasing his Spring 2015 collection at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week on Saturday.
For those of you who are "Tributes", here is the offical teaser (where Alon's gown can also be seen):
